Overview

Via ferrata, translating to "iron path" in Italian, refers to mountain routes decked out with steel cables, ladders, and bridges. They allow hikers and climbers of all experience levels to climb difficult trails that would otherwise be inaccessible. The Slovenian and Italian Julian Alps offer numerous via ferrata routes, with aerial views of mountains straddling beyond the border between Slovenia and Italy. With a safe and convenient via ferrata set, you're ready to enjoy the journey.

FAQ

We can demonstrate on how to mount the via ferrata set, attach the lanyard to the via ferrata line correctly, and wear a helmet properly. However, you are responsible for using the gear correctly during the via ferrata activity..

While via ferratas in Slovenia are generally well-equipped, you may still face challenges. The Julian Alps, despite their stunning beauty, are made of fragile limestone rock that doesn’t always allow for good line fixation. Occasional rockfalls in early spring and heavy rain can cause damage, so it’s important to inform yourself about the route condition beforehand and be prepared for areas with limited safety lines.
